Keith had his 1st chemo treatment last Friday. They had given him steroids Thursday night, then again Friday morning and also before they started the chemo. He is taking carboplatin, taxel and the study drug is called Nexavar. They have started him on a very strong dose of the carboplatin. Saturday he was flying high, then Sunday he crashed. Didn't get back to work until Thursday. Friday we were back at the doctor's for blood checks and all that. Since the 31st he has lost 10 more pounds and is down to 172. They are hoping that the treatments will stop the growth of the tumors.
Only bad part is when they stop the treatment the tumors will start to grow again. He has decided to go though at least one more treatment and when they do the PET scan, then he will decide whether to continue or stop. Either way he has been given 3 to 10 months to live.
