Ups and Downs

This has been a weekend of ups and downs. As I said earlier, Keith had chemo this past Friday. It did not go well for him. He came home Friday night and went straight to bed. He was up for a little while Saturday but from there on it was all down-hill. He didn't get out of bed all day Saturday, Sunday or Monday. He was very nauseous and tired the whole weekend and I was afraid to leave him. Yesterday, When we woke up he was ashen color and his eyelids were gray. He didn't wake up most of the day and when he did get up he almost fainted. He was very dizzy and stumbling everywhere. I knew I couldn't get him downstairs so I called the ambulance. We got to the hospital about 6:30 P.M. After not doing anything for awhile (which made me even madder), they finally got to see what he had gone though all weekend when he when he went into a fog and started throwing up. They ran all kinds of tests, gave him liquids and medicine. They finally decided that he was very dehydrated and sent him home about 11:00. He slept all night and is at home today. He seems to feel some better today, so I hope he has turned the corner.

I am really realizing how hard this is. Christopher stayed home today because he had a bad headache and I really think it was stress. Nothing would do but he had to go to the hospital with us. It isn't fair that any 15 year old has to go though this with someone he loves so much. It isn't fair that I have to go though this either and anyone else. Keith has been doing so well and last night really scared me. I cleaned house. That seems to be my release. I can forget everything for a little while and pretend things are normal.

Oh, Suzan! I'm so scared for you and I hurt for you and I'm praying for your family! We prayed so hard for Keith tonight. We're going through the same thing together, my friend--let's get our husbands well and go on a big fat cruise! Stay strong, snuggle with Keith, and try to sleep. (Yeah, right...)
