The Angels Came today

Keith John Hallam - March 2, 1944 - April 6, 2008

The angels came today for Keith. He joined the angels at 3:45 P.M. this afternoon. Yesterday he had started going downhill very fast, then this morning we had called and his nurse said he was sleeping, but called back and said that he was going downhill very quickly. We all got to the hospice and said our goodbyes. He was very peaceful until the end. He fought such a good fight and we always thought he would be the one to win.

To all the other warriors, keep fighting. I'll post more when arrangements are made and I can think.

Dear Suzan,

I saw your post on the MPIP and replied there but wanted to tell you again how deeply sorry I am for your loss. I have followed Keith's battle through your posts and blog and I know that it has meant everything to him to have your love and support. I am glad that the end was peaceful for Keith. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. As ever, Carver

So sorry Suzan - prayers are with you and the family at this time. I would like to share this small poem written by my mother several years ago.
There is a bridge of memories
from here to Heaven above
It keeps you with us always
it's called the Bridge of Love.
Elizabeth Fraser
God Bless you all with comfort and peace

To Keith's Family,
I, too, have followed your blog daily and prayed for all of you. Keith fought a wonderful battle. He didn't beat cancer, but I am sure he has won his place in heaven.

You all will continue to be in my prayers as you adjust to a new life without Keith.

God bless!

I hate this disease! The second I opened your blog, I just felt like I lost Brian all over again, feeling your pain. I am so sorry that you have had to endure the hell of today. I don't think anything compares to the sadness you are experiencing now. Know that we are wrapping our arms around you from afar and praying for peace. I will say extra prayers for you to get through each day, especially the days ahead.

Sorry to read this. Keith was such a brave and valiant warrior, as have you all been. I cannot begin to understand the pain of your loss and all that goes along with it. He is in the arms of Jesus now and suffers no more, which is a blessing, but for you the pain continues. My prayers surround you and the family now with this terrible loss. May you feel the arms of the great comforter around you and may He uphold you and strengthen you in the coming days. (((hugs))) XXOO

Suzan and family,
I couldn't go to bed tonight until I checked your blog--I just felt like there was something pulling me to the computer. I am so sorry for your loss today. While I know Keith will be missed so completely, he is now free from this terrible disease and no longer in pain. I find it very comforting to think that he passed on Jesus Christ's birthday and is now in his loving arms. May you also find comfort in knowing that you have many friends, close and unknown, who are praying for you and will continue to pray for you in the coming days and weeks.

Suzan/family,
The "Because He Lives" song you posted showed where your strength was coming from and it touched us too. There is another great old song we give to you today. It is "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow". The chorus says "Many things about tomorrow,
I don't seem to understand;
But I know Who holds tomorrow,
And I know Who holds my hand."
He is holding it, as we want to also.
We are thankful for Keith's life, and the blessing he was to us.

Dear Suzan,
I just wanted to tell you that you are a very strong woman, you have done everything humanly possible and more for your beloved husband. I will praise the lord for ending his suffering. I will pray for your comfort and healing, also for the children.

You loved him to heaven just like you said you would do. No one could ask for a better wife and partner. It's time for grieving and healing -- it will come, slowly. All of us are holding you in our hearts. God bless you and your family now and forever.
